Alfa-Helicopter provides commercial air transport (in accordance with JAR-OPS 3 regulations) specializing mainly in the area of helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS).
Through its commercial air transport operations, our company is able to provide the following: domestic and international air transport for passengers and their luggage, and cargo and courier services. For this type of operation we use Bell 206L4T and Bell 427 twin-engine turbine helicopters.

As a certified Part-145 Maintenance and Service Organisation, Alfa-Helicopter is able to provide full maintenance for the Bell 427, Bell 206 A/B, and Bell 206 L3/L4/L4T at our company’s hangar and the accompanying operations area that makes up our Maintenance Facility in Olomouc.

Alfa-Helicopter is also licensed to carry out aerial work. Our company’s most frequently offered aerial work is:

  • aerial photography
  • airborne surveillance, patrolling, aerial surveying and inspection flights
  • scenic flights
  • aerial work for forestry and conservation organisations
  • aerial work for the construction industry

Alfa-Helicopter is the operator of the Tabulový Vrch private domestic HEMS Heliport in Olomouc. The Heliport’s primary function is HEMS operations.

We are currently in negotiations with the Civil Aviation Authority to obtain licensed approval to operate a helicopter flight training school (as an FTO – Flying Training Organization – in accordance with JAR-FCL 2 regulations). In the near future, training flights will form part of our other regular operations in the scope of aerial work.

Alfa-Helicopter is a HEMS (helicopter emergency medical services) operator. In situations where the location of the incident is inaccessible or would take too long for ground ambulances to get there, our company is able to carry out fixed rope operations. The paramedic abseils (or rappels) from the hovering helicopter and is able to secure the patient in an undersling kit for transportation under the helicopter. This type of aerial operation is typical in cases where the helicopter is unable to land close enough to the injured party, or when the paramedic needs to abseil down to the scene in order to secure and prepare the designated landing area.
After receiving any essential first aid, the injured party can be transported below the helicopter under the supervision of a trained paramedic to the nearest available landing area. Here the patient can be moved to the helicopter’s interior or transferred into the care of an awaiting ground ambulance. This technique can also be effectively used when transporting medical professionals to the scene of an incident that requires urgent medical intervention of a specialist nature but the location is in inaccessible terrain.
Starting out with the first trials in 1996, Alfa-Helicopter is already well-experienced in performing underslung load operations in HEMS. Most notably, this technique was employed during the rescue operations in the floods of 1997. More recently, South Bohemian HEMS crews completed further training at our HEMS base in České Budějovice.
